Wet Spider
Hook: Size 8 - 6 steelhead/salmon.
Thread: Black 6/0.
Tail: Pheasant barbs.
Body: Yellow ostrich (or chenille), or red with gray, or solid red or black
Rib: Gold wire or coral wire with black body
Collar: Mallard flank

Tying Instructions:
1. Tie on in front and wrap thread base to just before the hook point.
2. Tie in a small bunch of pheasant barbs equal to the body length, then tie in the rib wire.
3. Tie in the chosen color of ostrich and wrap to the head.
4. Wind the wire forward 5 even turns and tie off.
5. Tie in the collar hackle 3 - 4 turns for a collar and wind back on barbs to achieve the proper angle.
6. Form a small head, whip finish and cement.

This is a very old pattern, but still effective. Let it sink and fish it wet for best success.
